Day 80 – The Island Tour.

Island Experiences is a local tour company located in Trinidad that offers various tours around the island. Last week I was given the opportunity to go along with them.

The tour included a visit to

  • The Chaguanas Market
  •  Dattatreya Temple
  • The Temple In the sea

Chaguanas Market

Located in the heart of Chaguanas, very easily accessible via public transport or if you fancy walking you can find provisions, vegetables of all varieties, fresh fruits like bananas, mangoes, peppers, crabs and a lot more at the Chaguanas Market.

The tour also took us to Hindu temple above, which is located in Carapichaima, one of the famous religious sites in Trinidad where the 85-foot-high Hanuman murti stands,  the largest outside India it’s claimed. The architectural designs of the pinkish/saffron (Kesari) colored Dattatreya Mandir at Orange Field Road, Carapichaima.

The temple in the seaDSC_0216 The Next runner up was the Temple in the Sea,  a Hindu pilgrimage site in Waterloo, Carapichaima, Couva-Tabaquite-Talparo, Trinidad and Tobago. It was built by Sewdass Sadhu, an immigrant who came to Trinidad and Tobago from India

The temple in the sea was, unfortunately, our last location to visit but the hunger was torturing me and I had to get some food. On our way back, we enjoyed a chicken roti, a vegetarian roti and yes, I’m always the weird one, I took a shrimp roti at the Highway Roti Shop. It was mouth watering if you were wondering, filled with flavor.

I enjoyed the tour very much and walked away with some beautiful Images. If you’re planning to visit Trinidad & Tobago and interested in various tours around the beautiful island, you should visit Island Experiences Tours.

Oh I almost forgot after my tour, I sat down by the Hyatt and got these to amazing images

Just taught I should share, Enjoy your day all.
